Sikki weaving is an ancient art which has its root in bihar. The products are made out of a seasonal grass (sikki grass) which grows wild in marshy land of Bihar’s madhubani district. Sikki is considered auspicious by the native and products made out of this have a special significance. These products have been made in the mithila region of Bihar by enormously skilled craftswomen.
